What is the problem with companies that make LASER based players? If it is known that the LASER has a finite lifespan (say, 10 years), why don't they include a replacement or two in the box? This is such an easily fixable problem for any thinking person.

@audphile1 My understanding is that that the Shanling 1) if playing a SACD and using the internal dac then it converts to PCM before it reaches the R2R dac, as the dac is only capable of receiving pcm. 2) if playing an sacd and using digital out, as long as you use I2s it is DSD, any other output will be DOP. 3) If using the r2r dac then pcm.
