CD/SACD player Under $4000

Looking for a new player. My Sony XA5400 won't play sacd's. Tried a new laser assembly but still won't play sacd's. Like to find something at least as good as the Sony. Does not need to be a network player. Open for suggestions!

As of today on the TMR  (The Music Room) website, there is currently an article titled, Most Viewed CD and Transports at TMR This week. There are a number of CD, SACD Players and Transports featured that are well in your price range. It might be worthwhile for you to take a look…

Happy hunting!

@audphile1 My understanding is that that the Shanling

1) if playing a SACD and using the internal dac then it converts to PCM before it reaches the R2R dac, as the dac is only capable of receiving pcm.

2) if playing an sacd and using digital out, as long as you use I2s it is DSD, any other output will be DOP.

3) If using the r2r dac then pcm.

The Denon DCD-3000NE is a relatively new SACD player on the market and is excellent. You can usually buy it for <$3300. Only downside is no XLR outputs.

I picked up a used OPPO BDP-103 on eBay for cheap.  I made several modifications to it (see oppomods.com) including adding an I2S HDMI port.  Now it sends native DSD to my DAC.  Magnetar bought up a bunch of oppo laser drive me chanisms, so they'd also be a good choice.
