HANA ML vs DYNAVECTOR 20X-2A

Never heard the Dynavector. I have Hana ML on VPI Prime X. It has natural tone, great mids and is pretty resolving but never analytical. 

I’m contemplating an upgrade to Umami Blue and will probably list my 4 month old ML soon. In case you’re interested in buying used. 

Coincidently, I have both cartridges (low output Dynavector) and the same phono preamp. The rest of the chain consists of a Technics SL-1200G turntable, Parasound A21+ amp, and Magnepan 1.7i speakers.

My overall impression is that the Hana ML is smoother and more consistent on the mids. The Dynavector is punchier and emphasizes the high ends more. It might be a bit more analytical. Both are fantastic cartridges. I tend to use the Hana with vocals and jazz combos and the Dynavector with music that has more dynamics. Honestly, I could (and do) go with either with any type of music. If you’re choosing between the two is hard to go wrong either way.

All I can add is that I have the Hana ML with the same phono pre-amp, Parasound JC3-Jr. TT is a Thecnics 1300G. I have no experience with the Dyna..

Every genre I throw at my current set up sounds wonderful. All that you describe as preferences the set up delivers and then some. I would not hesitate to go with the Hana. 

Yep I listen to everything - starting from heavy metal to jazz to classical no issues with ML doing justice to the recording. 
I load mine at 1000ohms where it’s detailed, dynamic and still has musicality in spades.

i rarely weigh in on threads like this as it’s not very often I or any of us have direct experience with the 4 variables involved: 2 setups and 2 cartridge…

of course the real wild card is personal preference… in the end, both are excellent carts from reliable companies…
