Stereophile - Sabrina 5

Hate to rag on Sterophile again, but one of two things are true.  One, the Sabrina speakers they reviewed were wired incorrectly or Wilson is now shipping with inverted midranges.

All that work to reduce distortion to vanishing levels only to totally ahem, add custom flavor to the frequency response.

Honestly if I was reviewing this speaker I'd have stopped to reach out to them before publishing, just to be sure this speaker shipped as intended.

@erik_squires

There’s no Sabrina 5

"V" refers to Wilson's proprietary V-Material first used in the Chronosonic XVX. This is the third iteration of the Sabrina series.”

I don’t see any mention of incorrectly wired drivers in the review. Is that just your assessment? Come on now…

@deep_333 all of the components in Wilson speakers are designed by Wilson Audio. If they outsource the actual build there’s a reason for it. It’s neither right nor wrong and you sir are definitely not qualified to make that judgement call. You cam express your opinion but you know what they say…opinions are like noses…everyone has one.

I’ve owned my Sabrinas for several years now and they are the best speakers I ever owned and one of the best I ever heard. In addition, every time I called Wilson Audio I spoke to someone who knew what they were talking about. And I got my emails answered within 1 business day.

You can keep on hating but that changes nothing for people who own and enjoy these speakers.

I skimmed through the review and I didn't see anything about an incorrectly wired driver either...

I'd be absolutely shocked if a speaker left the Wilson factory with a mis-wired driver, especially when it's going to a reviewer.

It reads to me that Peter McGrath was there when he set up the loudspeakers.  He did not note any aberrations with the loudspeaker.  The reviewer also has extensive experience with Wilsons.  The design and sound of the loudspeaker is how they intended.

@dpac996 - are you suggesting that nobody should criticize anything that they can't do better themselves?
