Recommended a highly resolving cartridge

Hi all, all tube system that is warm with a good midrange presence inherently. I’m looking for a cartridge that offers high detail / resolution and wide / deep soundstage. This is on a stock SL-1200G TT. On a side note, if anyone has experience “upgrading” the stock tonearm on a G please chime in. I’ve read conflicting reports of the merits of such a move, and while I’m very happy with the tone of my TT and am not looking to move off of it, I am curious about a tonearm swap (must allow for headshell swapping).

"Check my listing here on Audiogon. It's for a brand new, unused, Audio Technica ART9xi, mounted on a beautiful headshell. It's all set up to plug and play with your SL1200G"

Willyht- you're a little late.

The  OP stated a purchase of the ART20-the next step up was made.

Should he return it, and buy yours?

@ericba I agree. Hana are all incredible carts in their respective price ranges. But without a doubt, the S MkII are the best bang for buck on the market, either the low Output SL or high output SH.

@fastricky You can't go wrong with the ART-20. A particularly good tracking cart. You made a good choice over the Lyra IMHO. Would be interesting to compare to the Umami Red!? Probably a matter of sound preference.

I was the first internet joe public to report at stevehoffan.tv about the ART20. I've listened to a lot of systems since 1977 and the ART20 took my system to a place I've seldom heard. High resolution. High musical insight. A clear open window view of what is on the record in a high quality vinyl frontend.

I’ve used the Kandid on and off since it was launched about twelve years ago. It’s worked well for me in a Linn arm, but I’ve no idea whether it’d be a good match for a Technics.

Although it is branded as Linn, it is a Lyra made cartridge.
