Tekton Design Moab

Ordered a pair just now. In Dark Gray, to which Tammy immediately said, "Oh the Charcoal is beautiful!" Charcoal sounds better than Dark Gray (even though we are talking about the same color!) so Charcoal it is!

My beloved Talon Khorus do still sound awfully good. It will be interesting to see how the Moabs stock out of the box compare with these tweaked and modded warhorses. Both the strength, and the weakness, of the Khorus is using the 10" woofer to cover so much midrange. Its a strength because it makes for a very smooth and cohesive sound. But its a weakness because its asking a lot of such a large driver to go so high. Talon makes up for it with their isobaric design. Mounted inside and directly behind the woofer is another identical driver facing the opposite direction. The idea is this relieves the front facing driver of having to compress the air inside the cabinet. This does allow for a much faster response, and is a big reason for the wonderful music the Khorus produces.

I have a feeling however it is no match for Eric Alexander's ultra-low mass driver array solution. Only one way to know for sure. So we will just have to see!

There is no truth, only opinion
Of course you are speaking in terms of the confines of this thread and forum where the vast majority of discussions are based in individual and collective opinion. But there is also truth in these threads.
And of course in the real world there is truth everywhere.
There are facts, there are statements of reality, there are truths.
I keep tabs on the Tekton Facebook group. A wide range of systems and experience from HT receivers pushing all 5 or 7 speakers on up to what many on this forum would consider a very good system. And everyone is excited with the better sound they get from whatever model they own. This kind of enjoyment and excitement in music is what makes this hobby great. I appreciate the enthusiasm and support found there. I also find it here, but it can take more work. Hoping we can move this forum back to why we love audio more than a place of contentious debate. My 2 cents. (that and 4 bucks will get you a Starbucks)
millercarbon,

The real thing above out of the way, let me touch what others have in the past.

You can vent your anger at any of us. It does not make you right.

You are the OP of this thread. Yet, you do not bring anything useful and meaningful to it. You only bring negativity, hatred, insults. There is nothing meaningful that prospective buyers, or even just curious bystanders, could get from your posts. Your "reviews" do not seem even remotely objective. There are owners who do appear more believable. There are other posters who do talk about the tweaks they do. One may, or may not, side with them, but they describe what they do and what their experiences are in a civilized way.

This thread has been hurt and scarred from about the moment you posted your first post here. You brought negativity, with your very first words after the OP.

Here it is...

"Thanks guys. One reason for this thread is to right a wrong. The thread that first brought the Moabs and Tekton to my attention was sophomoric from the get-go. Substance shouldn’t be an uphill battle but oh well. In fairness its not anything to do with the subject but more a feature of the site and its encouragement of the worst sort."

I may be a nuissance in your, uberwaltz’s, or someone else’s world. However, it somehow escaped your eye that it is probably more people who voiced their wish that you stop, virtually "go away", from your own thread than they did for me.

At 63, you should not be embarassing yourself with late-night drunk’s bar argument kind of insults. Remember, you do not know who is on the other side of the screen. Do not ridicule yourself.

One reason for this post is to encourage you to right a wrong.

Along the way, stay healthy.
