Question for the older folks- did you ditch vinyl when cd arrived?

No. I bought a top of the line CD player... quiet backgrounds and great bass but terrible midrange and treble, Started collecting CDs. but mostly for travel. 

I didn’t have a vinyl collection to speak of. I was listening to tapes and radio. I built my vinyl collection in the last 20 years. 

@ghdprentice you can use qobuz app on your phone and ipad while traveling. 

Not right away. But after about 10 years or so. Never looked back. 

I bought my first CD player in the summer of 1992 though I started buying CD’s during the autumn of 1991. A mail-order Technics for $130 from J&R Music in NYC. I already had a modest LP collection and a nice British belt-drive TT/tonearm/lomc cartridge/SUT.
