Seeking Recommendations for a Streamer (No DAC)

Hi All,

Unfortunately I could not get an Aurender N100h to work with my BlackIce Glass FX Tube DAC so it's going back.

It's a known issue with Aurender, they even have a "bug fix" built into the app but in my case it didn't work.

I'm looking for a dedicated streamer, no DAC, optimized for USB to replace a NODE N130.

Budget is ~$1,000 used.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

@mclinnguy Excellent question and I had not really thought about it. But yes, why not right? And yes after some burn in time.

Thank you!

I've read some good things about the new Matrix Audio NT-1 streamer.  It comes in at $4000.  I know that sounds expensive but it is a pure no frills all about the sound streamer that competes with the big boys.   A bunch of people over at the Holo Audio forum are switching from the Holo Audio Red to this and are very pleased with the outcome.  The Holo Audio Red is a nice streamer that does a lot of things.

$1000 would almost buy you a used PS Audio AirLens.   Read up on the tech built into the AirLens.  They're very impressive.  I've only ever heard one in a pretty expensive PS Audio complete system, but I think I'm going to buy an AirLens when my time comes.

If you aren’t too married with name brands, I have a world class suggestion. To use it you will need to use Roon or a similar computer based management software that will do all the heavy computer processing. This streamer will only be used as an endpoint with minimal local CPU processing. If you power it with a great power supply, you will have the most amazing streamer.

Here is the article that shares more details and it includes a complete list of the article sources. It is the same single-board-computer streamer used in the T+A SDV 3100 HV a $38,000 USD DAC/Streamer.
