Seeking Recommendations for a Streamer (No DAC)

Hi All,

Unfortunately I could not get an Aurender N100h to work with my BlackIce Glass FX Tube DAC so it's going back.

It's a known issue with Aurender, they even have a "bug fix" built into the app but in my case it didn't work.

I'm looking for a dedicated streamer, no DAC, optimized for USB to replace a NODE N130.

Budget is ~$1,000 used.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

$1000 would almost buy you a used PS Audio AirLens.   Read up on the tech built into the AirLens.  They're very impressive.  I've only ever heard one in a pretty expensive PS Audio complete system, but I think I'm going to buy an AirLens when my time comes.

If you aren’t too married with name brands, I have a world class suggestion. To use it you will need to use Roon or a similar computer based management software that will do all the heavy computer processing. This streamer will only be used as an endpoint with minimal local CPU processing. If you power it with a great power supply, you will have the most amazing streamer.

Here is the article that shares more details and it includes a complete list of the article sources. It is the same single-board-computer streamer used in the T+A SDV 3100 HV a $38,000 USD DAC/Streamer.

Thanks @ejh369 You might have missed it on p1 but I abandoned the idea of upgrading the streamer only and bought a Lumin T3X. It arrived this morning and already sounds fantastic. The optical fiber adapters arrive tomorrow.

As an aside, my DAC sold an hour after posting it.

@macg19 I am happy you found something that sounds fantastic. Enjoy! I will also be getting some new gear soon. A new preamp. Really looking forward to it.

Thanks
