The streaming revolution.

If you had told me in my early days of listening that one day I would have easy access to virtually the entire recorded music output of mankind mostly in glorious sound and at a cost of pennies per day, I would have thought you a wild futurist.
This revolution has come with it a predicament of delirious proportion.  What to listen to?  Even If you limit yourself to one musical genre,  the choices seem endless.  It indeed is like a kid in a candy shop for a music lover.
I’m not complaining.  I’m just in awe!

Best entertainment value out there.  About the cost of a movie ticket for unlimited music is a pretty good deal.

I didn't start until late 2018 with a Vault.   It totally changed how I listen to and find great music.   That Vault is now in my second system. It was replaced with an Aurender. N

Streaming is very good now but direct ripped wav or Flac files still sound a bit better, I am working on closing that gap end point Ethernet cable is most important

for $2500 you can have a state of the art cable.

I am working to on maybe LHY top hub $2300 it gives a lot vs $4-5k units

I am looking at the new Zesto tube Dac ,my brothers has one of the 1st units

$15k is not cheap but makes everything sound special.

@soix +1 and in agreement with the OP.

What is really great is the barrier to entry is so low.

A kid in a candy store is my feeling as well. Streaming has allowed me to go down many musical roads I had only touched on before.  For music nut with eclectic taste, it’s truly a blessing.  I come across so much new music that I like, the only way to keep track of it is to make playlists or use tags in Roon - otherwise I’d loose track of it.
