late to streaming, recommendations?

Keep in mind that streamer performance and its ability to keep up with current streamer service developments, depend heavily on the software support of the OS that runs the device. Pick a streamer brand that will have reliable firmware updates.

As an example, it took some companies 8 months to make their streamer compatible with Spotify Lossless while other companies took less than a month.

Other companies went out of business a month or two before Spotify lossless was released so no more firmware updates, which means no new functionality.

Very nice looking system. Is that a modem / router on top of the rack on the right? If so, they are really noisy and can impart a lot of noise into your system. It is best to keep them at least 3 to 6' away from systems. 

There are lots of good streamers out there... many probably better with less software bugs, higher build quality, and a bit better sound quality. Although I am sure there are many folks that own them and are happy. You might look at Lumin, Innuos, used Aurrender for instance. 

PS Audio AirLens supports Spotify Connect and Qobuz Connect apps and Tidal. Those are around $2K new  and around $1.2K on the used market. That be fairly strait forward upgrade.   Then Phase II would be a higher end DAC.

Definitely will see an improvement with Qobuz vs Spotify.

The other site has a used (dealer owned) Aurender N100 which is well in your budget at $1195. I think that would be a reasonable start. It has been replaced by the N150, so likely why good prices are available. 

The danger would be once you hear how great streaming sounds through a quality system, you may get the upgrade itch. That's how I ended up with the N20 lol
