What blues are you listening to today?

Blues is by far my favorite and most listened to genre. I don't know how many of us are in here, but I thought a continuing thread of this kind might be of interest.

I'm listening to Buddy Guy's Sweet Tea. Buddy's covers of Junior Kimbrough,      T-Model Ford, CeDell Davis and the like are awesome. Jimbo Mathus sitting in on rhythm guitar doesn't hurt!

So what blues are on your system today?

A Facebook reel of this artist started popping up.  Quist.  The guitar player is great, very easy to listen to and on Qobuz.

Gary Clark Jr. Is another one.  Especially live.

I am by no means a blues expert but get attached to one's I like.  The Music is simpler, less performers I mean.  This allows very good recordings. Our local scene has some very talented blues guitarists and bands.  Many jam bands incorporate blues influence to great success.

Check out MusicMaker.org for a taste of Piedmont Blues and other roots music. MusicMaker is a wonderful organization that provides help to musicians in need. Take a few minutes to read about what they do and send them a few bucks if you can.

John Lee Hooker's It Serve You right to Suffer remastered by Acoustic Sounds has me listening to classic blues again. Nice and rare to have amazing performances matched by great production/mastering on vinyl.
