What blues are you listening to today?

Blues is by far my favorite and most listened to genre. I don't know how many of us are in here, but I thought a continuing thread of this kind might be of interest.

I'm listening to Buddy Guy's Sweet Tea. Buddy's covers of Junior Kimbrough,      T-Model Ford, CeDell Davis and the like are awesome. Jimbo Mathus sitting in on rhythm guitar doesn't hurt!

So what blues are on your system today?

Check out MusicMaker.org for a taste of Piedmont Blues and other roots music. MusicMaker is a wonderful organization that provides help to musicians in need. Take a few minutes to read about what they do and send them a few bucks if you can.

John Lee Hooker's It Serve You right to Suffer remastered by Acoustic Sounds has me listening to classic blues again. Nice and rare to have amazing performances matched by great production/mastering on vinyl.

Robert Johnson (my lord!)

Jimmy Reed (Big Boss Man)

Mississippi Fred McDowell (You Got To Move)

Memphis Minnie (When the Levee Breaks)

Blind Willie McTell (Statesboro Blues)

Little Walter (My Babe)

Elmore James (Dust My Broom)

Slim Harpo (I’m a King Bee)

etc, etc.

This just scratches the surface….
