What became of the guy making OB speakers about 2 years ago?

Is he still making them?

“OB’s seemed to be produced and endorsed by real eccentrics ;-) “

All you have to do is listen to them.  I own Cornwalls, Heresys and KEF LS50 Metas as well as Caintuck audio open baffles with Lii Song Fast 8’s.  The sound is incredible for Jazz and Vocals - otherworldly actually.  I guess that makes me eccentric.

IIRC correctly Spatial Audio (Claytons former company) evolved from Emerald Physics.

Suspect you were thinking of Clayton Shaw as noted above.

In the words of our most eloquent President, Mr. Shaw is best described as

"a very very bad man."   You really do not want to send a penny to this individual.

I admit to being eccentric. I was going to recommend the Caldaras to someone looking for speakers. I owned Accoustat 2 + 2S made custom frames with 4 servo amps (slightly modified), later Maggies, which I never could get to perform anywhere near the 2 + 2s, a bunch of monkey coffins (box speakers), including HPs own pair of Genesis Vs (too power hungry), eventually bought Emerald Physics 3.0s(model #?) with custom updated XOs. Ive had them for 3+ years. They play everything extremely well and respond to the many changes Ive make to the system in a 35’+ x 21’+ x 12’ with all glass front wall. Sorry to hear people got screwed by Shaw

I'd put in an order for Clayton Shaw's Caladans pretty early on. But after a 5 month wait I cancelled and my refund was sent almost immediately.  So I wouldn't call him a very very bad man. I'd just say he bit off more than he could chew. But he bowed out gracefully. That was my experience. I'm not trying to speak for anyone else.
