I do recall a lot of buzz here around Clayton Shaw’s Caladan open-baffle speakers, a few years ago. And the complaints of long production times and delivery delays...and then the darling flavor of the month/year seemed to fall off the face of the earth, as so many before it? 

Super glad I like box speakers just fine. OB’s seemed to be produced and endorsed by real eccentrics ;-) *I do like the Caladan's aesthetic better than most OB's.

If you go to Clayton’s site today, it has this banner:

Caladan will resume production May 2026

So I suppose that answer’s OP’s question?

Unfortunately this is the risk when purchasing from very small boutique companies! 

I mean, they still make them, so not sure which guy you mean.  It’s both a commercial trend and a common subject of discussion at DIYaudio. 

The late/great Linkwitz kits are also still available.
