HiFi Kit Building- have you ever built any hifi gear?
My first power amplifier was a Hafler kit that I assembled and put together back in the late 70's.
Frank009 is stalking my profile page.
I saw he has done that on at least two peoples systems. Flag it for the Admin. If there are enough complaints from people he will be removed!
LG vs. Sony 65” OLED
@cleeds My guess is they are talking about the latest ATSC 3.0 digital tuner versus the old ATSC 1.0 Analog tuner. Even between these two versions digital broadcast TV has barely moved an inch in several years even though the networks agreed to it...
Do Audiophiles Hear Real Differences, or Are They Justifying Expensive Purchases?
If electrical engineering were the only factor in making excellent sounding audio gear (Including cables) we would only need a few companies making gear and the only differences (All gear would sound the same) would be cosmetic and features and Ch...
Need speaker cable recommendations ...
Bi-Wiring rarely yields better results. Active Bi-amp on the other hand is a different story. It's usually best to purchase the best single cable you can and buy good quality matching jumpers. The metal plate or jumper that normally comes with spe...
Recommend Travel Headphones, wireless, closed back, under $500msrp
The noise canceling Sony's have served me very well the last few years although I only use them when traveling and on flights and watching movies, not really music. Very durable so far for last 3 years or so.
Aurender big price increases soon
@retiredaudioguy I'm not upset at all, just clarifying. I'm also a retired person and former component level tech and lifelong audiophile. If you look at my profile you will see I also own a Eversolo DMP-A6 Master edition. My primary streamer is m...
Aurender big price increases soon
@retiredaudioguy I wasn't asking for recommendations and wasn't shopping for a streamer or DAC. I just misunderstood that the Aurender price increase already happened. Hopefully people who were looking to purchase from them already bought one. My ...
Aurender big price increases soon
I appears it already happened and I just missed it. Thanks for brining this up and I did notice it was over $6900 for many companies. I think I paid maybe $6300 a few years back. I did notice it was $7900 for a couple of places. I thought that was...
What type of cables make the most difference
Power cables made the least difference for me and Speaker cables the most!
Did The Absolute Sound use an AI chatbot to review the Soulution 717 monoblock amp?
@noromance I didn't renew my subscription either last month. I still have a  stereophile sub and its much cheaper!
Tai Hang Power Enhancer
@tuberist Happy to help. Also what @rja said about the tight fitting plugs could be a deal killer for some people. I read about this before I purchased and had a plan about what I was plugging into it so I knew the size of the connectors and knew ...
Tips for first time audio show attendees (like me)
These are good tips. I've attended the last 5 AXPONA shows, 2 Rocky Mountain shows and several in Southern California and would like to add one more tip. Download a good app for your phone to identify the names of the songs the various rooms and v...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
Because of different equipment and value and performance of the equipment, cable impressions will sometimes be completely different between people. Also not everyone has the same critical listening skills or good enough hearing to even hear the di...
Tai Hang Power Enhancer
Keep in mind this power conditioner does not have non-sacrificial protection and uses cheap MOV's. I own it but where I live doesn't have serious power outages or lightning problems. Also I have no serious expensive equipment on mine. I use my PSM...
