Pop at end of Album

I have a B&O turntable.  When done playing an album, I get a loud POP when the tonearm is lifted.  Any suggestions on what the issue is and how to rectify it?  Possible anti-skate issue?

Op, this is a good experiment for almost a concurrent thread about the use of AI-generated responses. Me, you, and many others could easily ask AI the same question you posted and get an answer. I suggest that you do that (simply copy and paste your question to ChatGPT for example), and start troubleshooting yourself first to see if it gets resolved. If it is resolved, don’t post the solution and wait for the response. I am curious whether any anti-AI AGR (without any aid from any AI) could actually propose a correct solution to resolve your issue.

This is one of the areas that AI is very good at, i.e., troubleshooting, from my experience.  You also want to put in the exact B&O model you have (because ChatGPT was asking for it).

I had the same issue a few years back. Mine was traced to the auto lift mechanism being out of adjustment after many years of use. The turntable had a switch to disconnect the cartridge before the lift mechanism engaged. It was not disconnecting the cartridge soon enough. If your mechanically inclined, you should be able to adjust it. Best wishes!

thanks for the info.  I'll have to take a look at it.  i think i have a service manual i managed to get my hands on years agp.
