Warped LP's

Hey,

So, are some pressings just warped from factory?

I had purchased Springsteen’s Letter to You from Amazon (double LP) and the first LP has a very visible warp/wobble to it, although it sounded fine.

But didn’t like that and so exchanged it for another and this one also seems to have a bit of a wobble to it although not as bad as the first one (same side).

Since it seems to sound ok, I will probably just stick with it.

Amazon packing seems pretty secure and safe so I don’t think it is on them although who knows how they are kept at their warehouse.

But wanted to inquire if this happens time to time.

Thnx

@baylinor

That's not entirely true especially when a record is "washboard" in the center of the record surface.

I had similar issues with the Cassandra Wilson.

You might want to post this on the 'Analog' thread as well. But no, I've never had a record warped enough to even notice much, never mind not play. As long as it plays fine, I don't care if it's not perfectly flat; I'd rather just enjoy the music.

Ok.

99%+ then.

Out of over 2k LPs, only one center washboard warp causes issues in my collection.

I misspoke lol

Direct from BlueNote around 3+ years ago? To their credit because it was also noisy, I was sent another copy no charge. It needed flattening as well. Great lp!
