I don't think Roon is to blame. I don't use Roon any more and now use Qobuz via Squeeze and have the same problem. I tend to play whole albums rather than tracks and am finding on almost all albums I play at least one or two tracks won't play. I thought Squeeze was the problem but after reading these posts it seems most likely to be a Qobuz issue. Any sign they might fix it?
Roon Issues - Not able to play certain tracks
I have been running into this issue when Roon is in the radio mode where spontaneously it runs into a track it can’t play. It just sits there trying to play it.
When I go to that album and attempt to manually play that same track on Qobuz the result is the same - it won’t play. Plays other tracks from the albums just fine.
If I go back to Roon radio and skip that track the next song is played no issues.
No such problems with Tidal.
I have rebooted the Roon Nucleus One, rebooted my network, rebooted my DAC.
Even signed out of streaming services and signed back in. No bueno. This is in addition to it being sluggish and requiring an almost daily reboot to maintain sound quality and proper operating speed. Now this…
Anyone else with this problem?

This has absolutely nothing to do with TIDAL, and it's already been determined to be a Qobuz issue. Hate on Roon if you want but it's irrelevant, and you have no evidence of Roon complicity with the issue, do you? I have at least anecdotal experience to show it's not, since I suffer the same failures with Qobuz Connect. One doesn't need Roon to experience the issue with Qobuz streaming failures. |
Interesting...that Yo-Yo Ma/BSO Shostakovich Cello Concerto mvt I couldn't play an hour ago plays just fine now. I wonder if this Qobuz cloud migration is a matter of waiting for those tracks to get moved and Qobuz updating their links to the new locations for them? The missing Ysaÿe Sonata mvt still won't play though. Maybe it will be next to come back. :)

@dwette my evidence of Roon complicity with this issue is they haven’t done jack schiit about it. |
@audphile1 I didn’t say I like the issues and that I’m not upset with Qobuz about it. They need to fix the issues. So no, I’m not OK with it, but TIDAL is still irrelevant, Apple, Amazon, Spotify, and everything else are just as irrelevant. Forget them all. This is a Qobuz issue. I agree that Qobuz should have had a better cloud migration plan. They screwed this up. However, I couldn’t care less whether TIDAL, et al. does or doesn’t have issues. I don’t use the other services. It's just mixing concerns to bring them up. They’ll all have their own problems one way or another, sooner or later. I also don’t know about frequent Qobuz issues. I’ve been using the service with Roon, since Qobuz went live in the U.S. some years ago (i.e. April 2019 for me). In those seven years since I really haven’t had issues with Qobuz playback until now, not that I can remember. I had Roon issues years ago, but those are long ago resolved. For the most part it all works for me. Maybe I just use it differently than you do. I had TIDAL at first but abandoned the service when they went all in on MQA. |
