Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

Tom,

Great info thanks. You know how I feel about the CS5i and the thought of a CS5.2 would be too much for one to bare.

My experience is most people just do not know what type of amp the CS5i needs.

I will not mention amp brands but I have clipped some big names in the business powering the CS5i.

Stereophile’s initial review they under powered the CS5i thinking it was laid back, not engaging. These are Thiel speakers we are talking about.

With the CS5i sealed cabinet and an amp that that can take the CS5i where they can go it is one hell of a ride I assure you. I have never felt bass that hits like this.

It has that iconic mid-century design and the sexiest front baffle I’ve seen.

The back story of how you procured the Brazilian rosewood that specifically relates to my pair of CS5i is memorable.

I know your name is one the front of every speaker but want to thank you for all the work you do to continue and build upon the legacy that is Thiel.

Please cite the cabling, electronics and gear in your System currently. Additionally, I would like to see a Virtual Systems page. Looking forward in reading about the testing that you are conducting.

Happy Listening!

Feel free to mention the cabling, electronics and gear that you guys enjoyed when visiting duramax747 's place last year. Musical selections are always helpful as well.

Happy Listening!

If the 15k retail price point was adhered too things would be quite different for the CS5i.

I'm confused why the CS5i baffle wasn't implemented on the CS 7.2?

I'm delayed on starting the notch filter this weekend as we were hit with a storm and roads are icy so I opted not to risk it when I have a mound of work I can still do.

I'm traveling next weekend so I will need to take my opportunity to get into the CS 7.2  when it presents itself.

If I can get the CS 7.2 on the bench and remove the crossovers and extend the driver wiring outside the cabinet I will have set myself up to get right to it upon my return.
