Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

I am fortunate to own a reference CD player (Accuphase) and reference universal player (AYRE). No streaming in my future anytime soon.

Thank You for addressing fundamental Subwoofer elements. Upon release, there is no doubt that your XO Packages will be a Hit among Thiel owners.

which cable(s) did you switch recently? Your ears are quite good as I found the Bluesound Vault to exhibit a slight glare/grain during my demo.

Good to see you as always. Second- sound anchors are a sonic match for 3.6 and CS 2.4 models. Unsure about other Thiel Audio loudspeakers?

there are updates to the CD6 and CD9, with, CD6 SE and CD9 SE players. I would be curious to demo the CD9 SE for a comparison.

I am awaiting an audition of Swisscable in April or May.
I am currently on assignment for work.
As soon as I hear these offerings, I will post my impressions and thoughts here.

Nice catch! Saturday Audio Exchange is a great outlet for Thiel loudspeakers.

Thank You for citing Morrow Cable as a sonic match. What other brands did you test drive over the years?

Good to see you here again. The Crown brand is tops in the Pro Audio world.

Peavey is a close second. One could not go wrong with either brand. Are you keeping the Crown I Tech 9000HD ?

Always good to read about another McCormack fan and owner. It is a proven Sonic match for Thiel Audio speakers.

My pleasure. You certainly own very nice gear. Take the time, at your leisure, to peruse this informative thread. There are several 3.6 and power-point owners here. My aspect or niche' is Cables/Power Cords. We all know that an integrated or pre-amp is the Heart of a system.Cables/Power Cords represent the Extremities. Careful matching and synergy will take a good system to excellent. And an excellent system to outstanding! I have 35 years in the gear and 48 years as a Music lover.

I have been chasing the Accuphase for 10 years now. Seller finally decided to sell. The Ayre mates superbly with my Integrated amp.
Once I heard the combo, I was enlightened.

Thank You for continued research and development on Base options (other than Outriggers). The Italian casting product sounds interesting.
Have fun and stay safe!

Over on US Audiomart there is a pair of CS 2.4SE with S/N #217/218.

Located in central Florida. I wonder if the full production met 150 pairs ?

Thank You for the 4 seasons run-down there in New England. Do you know if Rob has been affected by the flood in Kentucky?

I understand. Back in those days many Modders had their own upgrades for Sony ES spinners.  Only a few would place a Seal of Certification on the rear panel. Still, you will want to hold on to this critical piece of Thiel Audio history.  Continue to enjoy CD playback while looking forward on a modern player or transport with SACD capabilities.

In addition to the 8/4 ohm double power ratio, I find it interesting to ask a manufacturer about peak current in  (A)mperes  rating as well.

As I started my higher end education back in the early 1990's via Stereophile and TAS subscriptions, I recall, Slew Rate being discussed quite often by the reviewers. In 2020, is this factor relevant as it pertains to power amplifiers?  I will concur with the CS 3.7 being very efficient, as well as, models CS 2.4, 2.4SE and 2.7.

Thank You for your insight and observations.  I was thinking along the lines of conversations that took place between you and Jim, building Thiel Audio.
Good to read that SR is still part of design and implementation these days.
