Amp first approach to building a system, anyone ?

Not exactly orthodox way to go about it, but I heard that some people just won't abandon their beloved VACs, Lamms, Kondos etc no matter what and will match new speakers to them. They might upgrade the amps, maybe, but would stay with the same brand. I am not sure I belong to this crazy group but I can understand them.

@inna you ever changed speakers but kept your amp? Wouldn’t that be same as amp first approach?

I have had my speakers for 25 years and have changed a few amps. Now that I have a much better and tube amp I won't change it easily, that's for sure.

So, I started classical way - speakers first, but if I want or have to change speakers I will definitely want to keep the amp - transitioning to amp first approach.

Speaker first , make sure it is the right size for your room. Then amp. If you already have the amp ? Iam sure you know what speakers will work for the room and speakers.

fastfreight, never auditioned Audionet equipment but of course read about it.
