Will the real Tammy please step up? Where would be without her? Seriously. Looking at the obvious lack of women scribbling on this august forum; might we Why chromosomes (I say, say that’s a joke son),consider that many of us (not all) are attached somehow to someone on the other side of the bed and that we have willing (not all again) partners in our joy and journey in this audio realm. They are on our respective teams to a lesser or greater extent. Fortunately my lady leans on the supportive side. And as a listing partner she can skip a song or turn down or off all systems with the speed of light. Who doesn’t love a punk rock rendering of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida. "In-a-gadda-da-vida, baby Recently she told someone visiting I spent over 3k on my newer streamer. I dummied up. Maybe another interesting thread could be on the don’t tell (all) when asked by partner what was ponied up. Who’s in? Bueller? Bueller? @willgolf Hi…left you message over on Agon. |
To add another dimension to this discussion, I went on the Jazz thread, which has to do with music not electronics. I was told not to mention electronics because there were people on that site who could not afford good electronics and might have been simply listening to music on their phones. The first thing I noticed was that there was no mention of female jazz artists, many of whiom are my favorites. I said I thought the site was a bit stuffy not mentioning female artists. And that wasn't taken very well. I began to mention female jazz artissts like Flora Purim, and I found some members were into that, and also into Brazillian jazz. Many long-time members of the forum pretty much quit posting and I found myself talking to myself and one other person, so I got off the site. For those people it seemed that real jazz was a male form of music, and the latter female (fusion) was kind of like mentioning "When Harry Met Sally" in a foreign movie forum. |
