Audible Shiny Gloss on Used Records--How to Remove?

I've tried cleaning these with TERGIKLEEN. It doesn't work. I use LAST with some used records. It's not that either. With LAST, it's best to wait a few weeks to play until the sound stabilizes. I suspect it's either lighter fluid or some kind of varnish. I doubt very much that Dawn will work on it. Probably only turpentine, but that would likely take off more than just the varnish.

Try dawn. Doesn’t hurt. 

Dawn is as good a stripper as anything- it is used by auto detailing folks to remove all the crap on car bodies to prep it for detailing. I don't know what to use for unknown foreign agents on a record, maybe Neil @antinn has an idea. 

I have concluded that a lot of the need to "clean" an older copy is a result of previous "bad" cleanings- that is, whatever agent is put on the record in an effort to make in salable is actually a form of contamination. 

OK. I'll try Dawn and report back. Any particular type of Dawn I should try to use? I see they have several kinds. (I don't live in the states.)
