i heartily agree that used h390s at going rates now are an insanely good value
Recommendations for a integrated amp
Lately I have been thinking going integrated from separates. I been interested in an integrated amp so I can keep it simpler with less signal chain. Also am looking for one that has a USB input so I can eliminate my interface as a dac. I am mainly looking SS but is not limited to. My budget is around 4k but I am flexible. This will be powering a pair of Triangle BR03 speakers.
BTW, I currently have a Rotel RC-995 preamp and a Acurus A150 amp with a Focusrite interface as a dac using Tidal on my laptop as a source.

Rouge Cronus Magnum III dark- IF you want a smooth atmospheric holographically three dimensional sound stage, realistic tone that solid state can only dream of and a high end refined sound to boot. The Rogue sound quality matches up with the best- only lacking in ultimate power compared to even more expensive solid state amps. Hegel sounds recessed to my ears. If you love midrange- go Rogue. |
@parkergetdean Thank you for your recent comment. That is exactly what is my intentions. Yes it would be a significant upgrade but I do plan on the speaker in the near future also as budget permits. @avanti1960 I really like that Rouge amp. I am not limited to the love of midrange which I love but a full produced full range response is important to me. |
One thing that has not been mentioned but is very important. The place you buy this amp (dealer) and the manufacturer should be reputable. Meaning you can get it fixed and get parts without a big hassle. It’s great to have a wonderful sounding amp until it doesn’t work. Then it becomes a very heavy metal box that sits there until you arrange to have it repaired. If it’s made outside the country you live in, is there a service center in your home country or does it have to be sent back to its home manufacturer base (in another country)? If so, what will your cost be? |
