HiFi Sound on the edge of downtown Minneapolis has a sweet listening room. Stacked with Sonus Faber, Stenheim, Mac, lots of tasties. Slab concrete floor, treated, etc.

Personally I think this is most critical for loudspeakers — but applies across the board unless the demo rig matches your own to a T. 

Such a coincidence is not likely to be the case for many. And how many audio shops offer home auditions? Not many, I’d guess.
