Tekton Double Impacts
Anybody out there heard these??
I have dedicated audio room 14.5x20.5x9 ft. Currently have Marantz Reference CD/Intergrated paired to Magnepan 1.7's with REL T-7 subs. For the vast majority of music I love this system. The only nit pick is that it is lacking/limited in covering say below 35 hz or so. For the first time actually buzzed the panel with an organ sacd. Bummer. Thought of upgrading subs to rythmicks but then I will need to high pass the 1.7's. Really don't want to deal with that approach.
Enter the Double Impacts. Many interesting things here. Would certainly have a different set of strengths here. Dynamics, claimed bottom octave coverage in one package, suspect a good match to current electronics.
I've read all the threads here so we do not need to rehash that. Just wondering if others out there have FIRST HAND experience with these or other Tekton speakers
Thanks.

Well, I've decided to order the SE's. I was half hoping they were only marginally better than the DI's so that I wouldn't have to spend the extra cash.....but it never works out that way in this hobby, does it? 😏 At at least I can move my DI's to my theater system where I can enjoy them with an SS amp while I drive the SE's with my SEP amp. Two....two pair of speakers are better than one ( there's a commercial there somewhere ). |
Hey mac48025, You will not regret getting the SE's, they are a wonderful speaker. I'm equally excited for you getting back your ZOTL and your new "baby" Aric's SET KT-88 amplifier. You owe us a field report regrading this combo, indeed. Also let's no forget your CF hybrid reference DAC driving the whole system! |
Hfaddict, The room and speakers has you generating some severe modes and nodes. Move the speakers to a new location, and please email me a sketch of your room size and layout. Also is the ceiling flat or vaulted? We’ve had clients with the best ears in the industry commenting consistently that the DI’s are producing the best ’believable’ bass they’ve ever heard. Happy listening! Eric Alexander - audio designer [email protected] |
