The Classe' SSP-800 is my favorite at the price point. The Meridian 861v6 is awesome but a two box solution (and no 3D if that matters to you) and it is pretty expensive.

I have an NAD T175HD pre/pro that I am very pleased with for HT and music. The newer model is the T187 and it does not have any video processing onboard for the same reasons you stated.
The NAD T187 retails for $3000.00. Here is a great deal at Spearit Sound.
Gonna spend hopefully 5 to 8 k on a new display if one ever comes out. Willing to spent the necessary cash for a quality processor for both movies and music. What I have been reading lately says that you really don't need a processor for video as it is handled by an Oppo and calibration of your display for TV. Is the new Anthem kind of overkill? 3D etc.
Thanks for all of the input. Lots to consider. It seems to me that room correction is fairly important as this is my den and it bleeds into 3 other rooms. I have been doing a lot of reading trying to get as much education as I can as my current unit is a 14 year old Onkyo Receiver. An Antique to say the least.
