Any feedback on Sam Laufer’s Memory Player?

I just ordered a player for myself having received one for my friend last week.

30 days $$$ back guarantee.

Does anyone have any feedback you can give me on this player?

I heard one many years ago in a reviewer’s system.  The entire system was about $400k and fantastic.  Of course I couldn’t identify how much the player attributed to the sound quality.  It was a unique item back then, but today at least as far as servers go, buffered or “memory” playback is common.
And of course use of CD’s is a lifestyle choice. Personally I haven’t played a CD in over a decade, and prefer my music on a server I can control from my phone, and most of the digital music I play is hires. If I’m going to spin a disc it will be vinyl.
Please post back and let us know how the memory player works for you.

@glory so sorry to learn of your wife’s diagnosis. Best wishes for a positive outcome and her full recovery.

@glory

I am very sorry for your wife's recent diagnosis.  You both have my deepest sympathy and I wish your wife the very best.  Modern medicine is capable of astonishing outcomes. Keep the faith.

Glory - I've been using a Memory Player for the past 3 years and I really like it.  I bought directly from Sam, but it was in from a previous buyer who was upgrading, so not the most recent model.  I really like the sound - I think it sounds better than the Aurender I used before it.   I've also played around a bit with both USB (SOtM with superclock) and the Lynx AES16e AES outputs too, so its flexible.

The only real negative for me, and this may have been improved in more recent versions of the MP - the user interface isn't great.   JRiver works fine, but you really need to read up on the different JRiver settings and versions, because Sam doesn't offer a true manual.   Because of this, it took me a while to get it set up the way I have it now.  It's definitely not a plug-and-play device like an Aurender, but again, this may have improved in more recent versions of the MP.

But from a technology standpoint, I think that Mark's IDEAS software that removes jitter artifacts that are part of the recording is pretty amazing and unique.  All of the competitors' jitter-reduction techniques that I've read about are all at the clock level, but the MP is working in a different direction.  This is the main reason I bought one...

Sam has been undergoing a major redevelopment of the company.

I am to be getting the newest Memory Player in a few days. I'll let you know what I think.
