Made the Move and Not looking back!
@mgrif104  Auralic’s Lightning DS sounded significantly better than Roon and it was easily discernible.  Wait until you get the chance to hear an Aurender running its OS, or the Grimm MU1 running Roon...unfortunately there are many levels of "...
Integrating speakers into contemporary decor - can WAF ever be overcome?
You havent mentioned budget nor associated equipment. Large, medium or small space?   My wife LOVES the Devore O96 look but we also have a mix of mid-century and mountain contemporary (Aspen, CO). I have multiple systems and she thinks I should ...
Update on good Ethernet switch
It all matters in audio. Besides, if part of a $1 million wire transfer arrives a little late but still arrives, its still money. If parts of your music arrive a little late....who knows right? I can state emphatically though that large amounts of...
The best speaker cables you’ve had
@jerrybj  The AU24 sx speaker cables might be fine then. Your ATC’s are 85db/8ohm speakers so the strengths of the A23 with higher impedence loads is less of a factor. The AU24 sx IC’s and AES cable are both fine performers.
The best speaker cables you’ve had
@jerrybj What speakers are you currently using? Alot of us assume better must be better...and I have no doubt there are countless happy owners of AU24 SX BUT....the impedence match is a very real thing that I completely disregarded in advance. ...
The best speaker cables you’ve had
@jerrybj I did the same thing Jerry, I purchased AU24 SX to replace my A23. It didnt turn out, however, as the AU24 SX was NOT an improvement. Quite the contrary. The AU24 SX may not be as effective with higher impedence loads (Devore Fidelity 10-...
Why do almost all women today hate home audio?
What I find humorous is quite often there will be a comment along the lines of “yeah, my ex-wife hated hifi”, etc, etc. The consensus might be it was unlikely that it was the hifi setup she hated.
Amps on top?
Steel tends to sing (vibrations at a particular frequency). Its a thing so hopefully your off road truck friend was able to mitigate that during construction. Best.
Ethernet opinions
@grh1958 Indeed, there are gains to be had optimizing the ethernet stream. Many won’t agree, however, with the idea that a counterfeit versus a close copy is an option.
Audio Research in Receivership.
@grislybutter Indeed…thats about 19,000 liters of fuel so cruising that size “boat” at 20 knots would yield somewhere between 1,100 and 1,200 nautical miles of range.
Ethernet Cables
@soix I do think its rather kind of the Audiogon community to welcome panzer and other ASR/anti-ethernet-cable cultists. Imagine how lonely it must be for them when those who hear a positive difference refuse to consume their cool aid. It does s...
Audio Research filing for bankruptcy?
@helomech  I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the largest Pass Labs dealership in the country recently shut down. Actually the dealership to which you refer did NOT shut down. He announced that he would be winding down operations and retire...
Storage boxes. Can I discard high end shipping boxes, and still sell in the future?
It depends on the quality of the gear you have. Do you have a dedicated listening room? Do you own or rent? Do you have a garage? Do you live in a large metro area where cash and carry re-sale is possible?
Ethernet opinions
@fredrik222 I don’t recall saying anything about “no cacheing”…you’ve still yet to point to where I called you a name. Your continuous, irrelevant posts are really cute though…
Why do almost all women today hate home audio?
@hilde45 +1   I love it when old guys ‘splain how young people listen. Its like watching a Kremlin debrief….
