Suggestions for ripping services.
@nc03854 Were you successful in finding a service that could rip and tag your CD collection?  I'm struggling to do it myself.
What are you using as a streamer? Constructive feedback please.
I pulled the trigger and made the jump from a Bluesound Node to an Aurender N10.  I can validate the improvement was a game changer, as you would expect, given the considerable difference in price.
Problem with Esoteric service
Not sure if this is accurate, but I've heard similar things about DCS, in that if you are not the original owner, the odds of getting used units serviced is not good.  I will avoid DCS and Esoteric.
Do different streamers really sound different when using an external DAC
I used Bluesound products (Vault 2 and the latest Node) for several years combined.  In my experience streaming via Bluesound sounds best when wired (vs. wireless), which in my case was with a wireless extender.  Adding a DAC is also a BIG plus......

not yet... but sense it's over due.
Your tube amp related Harbeth experience.
The best tube amps I’ve used over the 10+ years I’ve owned Harbeth’s are as follows (not in order of preference): McIntosh MC275 MKV (75-90 WPC) with 40.1’s VAC 70/70 Signature (68 WPC) with 40.1’s and SHL5’s Music Reference RM9 MK2 (125 wpc)...
Harbeth again…or other speakers for acoustic music?
I owned 40.1's for 8 years and loved them, but agree your room is likely too small to accommodate Harbeth 40 series.  I had the non + version of SHL5's for about a year... they were just okay, but like @timo62 , I found their top end to be too muc...

Cary Audio Design CAD-120s mkII or Music Reference RM-9 MkII?
@spe Glad you lucked into the RM-9 experience.  I love my RM9 MK2 with vintage RFT "Siemens" EL34 tubes.  Also sounds great with Gold Lion KT88's.  It's a great all-around amp that's difficult to beat in the $4K price range if properly maintained ...

@wjob Did/do you find the Auralic and Bricasti server options provide superior sound quality vs. the BS Node?

@tomstruck My Audio Aero Capitole Reference DAC is actually a DAC/CDP/Line Stage Preamp all in one chassis.  I guess when I'm ready to try the Aurender N10, they'll probably be available on the used market for < $4K, which is a lot more palatab...

@tomstruck How much upside did you experience going from the Bluesound to the Aurender N10?  I realize I'm still playing in the minor leagues with my Bluesound Node, but I just can't bring myself to spend big money on a streamer without having con...
Would you sell for cash?
Sounds very fishy to me... "yah, an employee of mine just so happens to be in your area and also happens to have a huge wad of cash with him... and he has nothing better to do, but to spend his time tracking you down to buy something that''s not e...
Why has Virtual Systems Activity disappeared from the forum section?
@sbank I like your idea.
