More Power or use subwoofer to boost bass for music dual subs; as large and powerful as you can fit and afford. I like the big HSU Research units
Can I go wrong with Stillpoint Ultra Mini anti-vibration isolation feet? @Atagulka. Hockey Pucks are HARD. You want SOFT for isolation feet.
Ehernet cable question in streaming systems Ditto Supra Cat 7 or Cat 8. Doubt anyone can tell the difference between them foe digital audio.
What to upgrade to? what kind of TT fo you have? If you feel it’s adequately, I’d spend it all on the best used speakers you can find; maybe phrase your amps as well?
Child Damage Mitigation I’d just nail some chicken wire to the walls and to a wooden frame too high for the rugrats to climb and screen off all the equipment that way, get a remote line-level volume control if your amp does not already have one, and you’re all set. Not p...
Jazz for someone who doesn't like jazz. After that, try some of the big-band era groups, or New Orleans style jazz. Never met anyone who wasn’t captivated by Professor Longhair’s incredibly great piano work.

What is the average dealer mark up? Keystone (2X) is pretty standard for B&M dealers in most consumer goods, except for food and vehicles. That’s why I ALWAYS compare online sellers (Amazon, Crutchfield, Reverb, and Sweetwater) generally before buying Last B&M purchase wa...
Direct Drive vs. Idler Drive vs. Belt drive I modified my mid-level belt drive Pro-hectic TT to use a non-stretch Kevlar belt and a small needle-bearing idler pulley to tension it. TT bearing noise is so low it’s virtually unmeasurable on my oscilloscope.
Equipment Rack - How important in the grand scheme of things? I use a standard 19” studio rack for all the electronics, sitting on a thick piece of foam for vibration isolation. More elaborate stone stand for my TT.
Whats on your turntable tonight? Nothing: packing up to move later in the week. All my gear is boxed up.
Whats on your turntable tonight? Want to use one of the dedicated “big spindles”, audiophile tables don’t use them, plus I want a stack changer like Garrard GT10
Whats on your turntable tonight? And, if so, what do you recommend? |
