Comments on Dire Straits Re-mastered LPs?

Are there any Dire Straits fans enjoying the Re-Mastered first two LP's done by Bernie Grundman and pressed at Pallas in Germany? I honestly believe this is the best the first two albums have ever sounded! I own the Warner Brothers domestic copies and the Vertigo British copies of both and these are superior. The vinyl is dead quiet, the mix excellent and the dynamics the best I have heard. Check them out. I can't wait for the next ones.

I bought the re-issue of Dire Straights first LP done by Bernie and pressed in Germany. I,m very pleased with this re-issue. It,s done quite well and was a treat to own again. My Favorite Dire Staights LP with Brothers in Arms a close second. In Jan. 1979 myself and 3 buddies fed up with our jobs and the cold canadian winter quit our jobs and drove to Padre Island Texas. We stayed for six months and this Dire Staights LP (on cassette for the car) got a lot of play and brings back alot of really good times! That was when Padre was mostly beach and dunes not the place its become now. Cheers !
I also agree that these new reissues are very fine indeed. I have the Japanese pressings too, they are quite nice.
Thanks Guys! I was wondering how they would be. It is sounding like they are worth the price.
I bought the first album since I didn't have a audiophile pressing of this title. I loved it so much I just received Commuique' (their best release in my opinion) and haven't played it yet but I will be getting Love Over Gold as well.
Haven't decided on Making Movies yet, that wasn't one of my fav's. But I think these are a great value and I hope they do more from other artists.
Theo- I think you're right that snagging Communique and Love Over Gold are the best bets. I for one loved Making Movies, but the mix was muddy and nowhere near the standard of the aforementioned masterpieces- in my opinion.
