Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?

I still own and enjoy my Walsh 2000s that I bought in 2009.  I have MuicroWalsh Talls and a Walsh Center channel as well for my combo 2-channel/surround system.  No interest in changing to anything else.  I still run a pair of Vandy 2Wq subs with the 2000s.

I think it’s a mystery to most all.   The lack of info is concerning.   Hoping things land in a good place.  I know they moved to Connecticut and are trying to forge ahead as things get worked out, but that’s about it. 
 

@rebbi I may be able to come close to giving you an answer about how they sound. I actually own what I would call its bigger brother. The Ohm Waish 4000-Tall. The set I have are the original vintage Ohm waish 4000 and I have them setup in my vintage listening room that is what I consider a large room. How it sounds, well for this particular speaker it sounds amazingly large with great dynamics when you turn the volume up. Remember you are listening to an OHM speaker so you will get sound that wraps around the room while keeping great stereo imaging and a sound stage that’s as close to live as it can get for a speaker in its class. Like most ohm speakers you will feel engulfed with musical sound that seems like it’s coming from every direction... and it is. If you are not ready for the experience you are about to experience, it can be somewhat shocking to the ears and mind what you are hearing for the first time. But once you get used to the sound that they produce you will no longer be in shock by what you are hearing but you will always be amazed with what they can do. At least that’s how it is for me in my listening room with the Ohm Waish 4000-Tall speakers that I have. With my speakers you can sit in any position of the room and get amazing full stereo imaging and great dynamics with a large soundstage like you are in a symphony music hall. To be totally honest there are no weak points or spots for this speaker in a large room. Now as to how your Micro Ohm-tall speaker, it will most likely give you the same characteristics in sound quality and sound dynamics in the right size room. And it’s always great to have a power amplifier with enough headroom in wattage to drive them that will handle 6 ohms with no problem. I switch around amplifiers for power, but I have used amplifiers with as much as 300 watts per channel to drive my speakers to full range. But with that type of wattage, you must be cautious and be in controlled of the volume output and how much you are sending to the speaker. Your speakers should also be of 6-ohm impedance and should be given the right amount of JUICE TO DRINK. A 100-watt per ch... KRELL or TRUSHOLE power amplifier will drive them just as well or much better than some 150-to-200-watt amplifiers will that are being made today. In other words, vintage loves vintage and you well get a match made in heaven with a pairing like that when it comes to SOUND QUALITY.

I can not tell you how many friends who have much more invested in

their systems are blown away by my Ohm Walsh 3000 talls. Mine is simple,

Modwright pre, Threshold T200, bluesound Icon. I do have a denon 2900

universal player, with Modwright truth tube mods but these days i stream

everything. No subwoofer needed. Everyone walks around them with a 

confused look and ask how do they do it. They sound amazing.
