Thiel Owners

Guys-

I just scored a sweet pair of CS 2.4SE loudspeakers. Anyone else currently or previously owned this model?
Owners of the CS 2.4 or CS 2.7 are free to chime in as well. Thiel are excellent w/ both tubed or solid-state gear!

Keep me posted & Happy Listening!

@jafant you can see my system on my profile page. I’m all over the board on music but listen more to classic rock and pop, more recent female vocalists as well as classical and jazz.

Adding a caution: Although the impedance is very resistive, it is very low. Among Thiel's difficult low impedances, the 3.6 is perhaps the lowest. You'll need an amp tht delivers current.

Thank You for throwing the second pitch. I hope you are doing well and enjoying Summer.

Happy Listening!

I have a Hegel 390. I’m assuming this is sufficient for the 3.6? “

“Official spec lists a 2Ω minimum load, but Hegel doesn’t publish a separate rated wattage figure for 2Ω. The independent Hi-Fi News lab test does, though: measured under dynamic conditions, the H390 delivered 1.04kW at <1% THD into a 2-ohm load,  compared to 544W/4Ω and 279W/8Ω dynamic figures.

Continuous (non-dynamic) full-power behavior into 2Ω wasn’t separately published in what I found — the doubling pattern (8Ω→4Ω→2Ω roughly doubling) suggests it’s built to sustain very low impedances comfortably, consistent with the current delivery: max current is 34.1A.”
