Subwoofers - crazy upgrade!

I’ve read it for decades , every where. Never tried a sub

Till now.  What a shame!  This is amazing.  Just 1 hour

in my system and not fully broken in or calibrated. opens

Up the mains, deepens stage, adds bass detail.  More

Soulful/open- dynamic- easy.  Svs 3000 micro R.  I do NOT

get the physical body compression, but musically wonderful!

I can overblow it a little to feel it though .  I have it on the stock feet.

i think elevation would allow more volume and gain to get

a physical impact while keeping it clean.  What an enjoyable

subwoofer!!

Get a second sub, and not only will it sound better, but placement will be relatively easy...

@m-db I have not (yet).  Not friendly to my back.  My speakers go really low (REW shows them starting to drop at 15Hz) but I do have 2 subs on standby!

I'm very glad you had a successful installation!! It's hard for many.

The use of built-in DSP and calibration on a sub is priceless, and SVS has it in an affordable package.

Besides the subwoofer crawl, the AM Acoustics Room Mode simulator can be very helpful for many with "normal" shaped rooms.  Also, the reverse crawl, put the sub in your listening spot and move the mic is easier. :)

I will be playing around with room correction this

weekend, very interested to see the impact it has.
I am guessing it will be less boomy but play louder

with a touch more visceral impact.  I do need to check

into the best way to connect it.

I have 4 subs, placed in the corners of the room. But I wonder if stacking 2 in the front would be better?

Anyone have an opinion on this? They are heavy, so to stack might be difficult for me.
