I finally got my parents to dump all their cassettes today. There is no way they are ever going away from their CDs. I have to admit that when I am there, I am amazed at how nice their system sounds on much less expensive and much older equipment than mine.
Is anyone still using a CD Player
I have a bunch of CDs and the Krell 505 player. I find myself defaulting to my Aurender Streamer and never listening to CDs. I’m considering getting a CD Ripper and loading them via HSD or SSD card and loading into the Aurender. Thoughts? Am I in the dark ages even keeping the CD Player?

Years ago I got rid of my CD collection - thinking I was forward thinking and I knew CDs as primary medium for music was going to be buried by the advent of things like itunes and digital music platforms - |
@lightfighter2018 "I decided that I better buy CDs before I can’t -- because as it is -- gettin any type of medium for audio and video is becoming more and more of a challenge - if not impossible to acquire - I am not talking on the used market - I am talking - buying new - there is no store I know of that you can buy NEW CDs or DVDs. Best Buy, Target, there are no more music stores, Amazon has very few to choose from if they are even in stock - so - " Maybe it depends upon what artists you are looking for , or how old the title is, but I really don’t have a problem finding NEW CDs or Vinyl available on Amazon. You can find also find NEW on the websites such as CCMusic.com, Elusive Disc, Acoustic Sounds, Music Direct. TowerRecords.com, to name a few

@facten Band Camp and crowdfunding are good methods to purchase new artists' produced hard media. I buy this way as the remuneration to the artist is attractive, and much improved over a streaming platform's payment. Note: established artists are also on the same portals. |
