Visited a Store and was shunned
I am on the west coast - California. I must preface - I haven't been to a brick and mortar audio store in decades - not including 'magnolia' -- as brick and mortar audio stores are nearly non existent - there are a few in Palo Alto and SF bay area...

RCA analog cable choices
Thank you for all of the recommendations. Where does Morrow Cables fit into recommendations? Good to go? Cullen Cables?  Anti-Cables? I have seen these mentioned on AG several times - so just wondering what the experience if any was good, bad, ind...
RCA analog cable choices
@soix Thanks for the suggestions. I will take a look at those. As for sound characteristics --  I listen to all types of music - streaming mostly - quboz. Ranges from jazz to elecronica to rock. So the sound I am looking for is something not fati...
RCA analog cable choices
Not using any interconnects as the dac to preamp is a new addition. My other gear is tv, dvd. No other hardware. Years ago I had a Nak and NAD cd players using MIT and Tributaries cables... but that is the extent of my experience with analog cabl...

AV Processor Conundrum
I have a marantz 7706 with a monoprice monolith 7ch x 200 amp -- and they sound great together -- No its not a McIntosh or Mark Levinson experience... and -   I know monolith is not the usual name that comes up here among the flexers in AG that s...
In the middle of a pandemic, Stereophile reviews ~ $30K equipment
Surprised by the responses to this OP... agreed $30k is a lot of money - for any audio gear... but cost is always relative. For a while though I thought I was one of the very few in the audiogon 'family' that ' did not ' have budgets for five and ...

Trying to make sense of the new and improved world of streaming music
@ianrmack It wasn't about feeling better. You presented an opinion as a fact. I was clarifying my pov. Calm down. All I am asking for is a bit of professional courtesy. If you are incapable, then move on as I have.I have no ego attached to this, s...
Trying to make sense of the new and improved world of streaming music
@ianrmack No need to be a dbag man. I didn't mention a budget because it's irrelevant at this point. And I have done hours, weeks, months of research including this forum. But I wanted specific examples of what others general experience was as it ...

@douglas_schroeder I will check out the iFi. Someday - I will be in the club of hifi of no budget constraints. But until then I will live vicariously through everyone else in the AG.Thanks again. Always enjoy good advice and discussion.
Ethernet Cables -- where do they matter most?
@douglas_schroeder thank you.  The SONORE seems like a great unit. A bit out of my beer budget, but awesome nonetheless.Fibre is intriguing for sure. I happen to read briefly your article but will re-read it when I have some time for an in depth p...
Ethernet Cables -- where do they matter most?
@douglas_schroeder Just didn't know if there was a general consensus on which 'tech' is considered a 'preferred' method of sending music from point a to b... etc.
