New from Klipsch - Large Bookshelf Heritage Rebellion

We have a pair on order and are very excited to get our demos.   Klipsch seems to be doing everything right lately, and are making the best products they've ever made by far.  

Always thought a heritage bookshelf would be a really cool option.  We will post our honest impressions when we get them!

Honest opinion welcomed, hopefully with some comparative evaluations. Marketing babble is not - just saying I like it because…isn’t helpful. 

It is my understanding that MDF is a more solid and consistent material than plywood.  In addition to being consistently dense it machines very well. 

The thickness matters, of course.

MDF has been the standard for decades, never seen a Balsa cabinet before, plywood is rairly used now. 

That said looks to be another over priced Klipsch speaker. 

Sorry - meant bamboo, not balsa.  Saw that about an hour after I posted it.  Ascend Acoustics use bamboo for their speaker cabinets.  Must be age creeping up on me and on my birthday no less.

I realize that MDF has been the de-facto building material for speaker cabinets for decades.  

I just thought that other Klipsch Heritage speaker cabinets were made from plywood.  I was mistaken.  That was true for the original versions, not true for today's versions.

I also thought that at $3200 (premium Tigerwood finish), something other than MDF would be used.  My bad.  

Geez - I really wrote balsa.  Images of rubber band airplanes from my childhood come to mind.
