Rough Trade Records - Beware Before Ordering

Has anyone dealt with this store before? They are based in the UK and I have yet to receive any items I ordered including a record and some merch. I have waited 6-8 weeks and more for items which were never delivered. I would periodically get a message from the company stating that my order was being prepared for delivery and that was it.  So, I just cancelled my order and will receive a refund less 8% because the cancelation was beyond the 2-week cancelation period.

I recently paid for and ordered an album from a UK online store and it was never shipped, no response to any questions. Not fun.

Thanks for the input!  I did use a  cc card and I may pursue the 8% cancellation fee. Although it really doesn't amount to much. However, on principle... .

I would avoid Rough Trade, I have been hearing bad things about them not shipping as well as unauthorized charges.

Just as a thought, have you checked to see if shipping is being held until Customs or VAT has been paid?

 

I'm in the U.S. and rarely buy stuff from the U.K. or Europe, but just today I was looking at a European site to pre-order the upcoming Half Speed Remaster of Talk Talk's awesome release, "The Colour of Spring".  There was a new warning to U.S. buyers that the shipping would be delayed until "Customs and Taxes had been paid by the buyer and they would be calculated later."  I stopped the order because I have no idea what those charges will be or how to even pay them.

 

Is it possible your order is in limbo?
