Anyone in the US that can repair turntables

I have a table that has a speed issue. It is a complicated design with a variation of a servo feedback system that corrects speed. I have already replaced the motor but the problem persists. It seems to be running slow. I have the option to send it to the manufacturer for repair, but he is in the UK and shipping both ways will be a nightmare, even using Pirate Ship. Does anyone know a technician that would be willing to tackle such a job?

Stephen Sank at Talking Dog Transducers.

IMHO, one of the best techs in the country.

Thanks for all the suggestions. @mofimadness I have heard of Stephen Sank. He performed the 600 to 601 upgrade on a pair of bel canto monoblocks I used to own.

The turntable is a Helius Designs Alexia. Both Dan Meinwald, the importer and Geoffrey Owen, the owner have been great trying to help even though I didn’t purchase the table new.

I will say that I suspect that dealer I purchased the table from knew about the bent motor shaft when he sold it to me. It was obvious right away there was a problem and he just ghosted me from the beginning.

I am assuming that both the importer and the owner are in the UK.  Neither of them were able to suggest someone in the US?

Also imo you should name the dealer.  Even if he didn’t know about the issue he deserves a mention for ghosting you.  I certainly wouldn’t want to be purchasing from him him going forward

If the maker is still sentient and in business, it seems a shame not to send it to him. I would not worry about damage during shipping, if you have the factory packing materials or otherwise know how to pack a turntable. The big hitch might be shipping duty. But DHL is reliable as far as that goes.
