Analysis Plus Silver Apex RCA vs. what? (Used)

I’m exploring taking my phono stage ICs up a notch and these came to mind as there are a couple on the used market under $500 and I’m also wanting to shorten the length to clean things up.

I’m currently using Zavfino Fusion connecting a Sutherland Little Loco to a T+A integrated. Cart is MSL Platinum.

No complaints with the ZF’s, just curious and heard good things about Analysis Plus.

Not looking to spend more than $500 used at the moment. Any other suggestions?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with the Zavfino Fusion, I can’t draw any direct comparisons. Pending on cartridge, I have great success with Silver Apex, Townshend F1, and XLO Signature 3. Apex is more airy and slightly upfront. F1 is very transparent and direct. It’s like no wire between tonearm and preamp. XLO sounds close to F1 but slightly behind in transparency.

My current fav is Townshend F1. Setup is The Lyra Kleos on VPI Table.

Thanks @mosler666

I bought a used set of Silver Apex this morning 0.5 m for $380

The F1's look interesting, I didn't know Townsend makes cables.

I'll let you know how they compare against the Zavfino's, which are a bargain IMO - partly because they only sell direct.

I have been very happy with my Darwin Cables.  The Natural 2 is a little above your price range but they often have deals on demo cables and things they've taken in trade.

@macg19 I auditioned these cables and compared them with nordost tyr 2, kimber ks1126, Audience FrontRow and acoustic zen absolute copper that were in my system at the time. I found the AP sibilant and fatiguing. I went with Tyr 2. KS1126 was second best.
I since sold the Nordost after about 2 years and replaced them with Kimber ks1116. That’s on DAC. On my phono stage I use kimber carbon from table to phono and from phono to integrated. I tried my ks1116 on phono and they are just as amazing there as they are on DAC. Kimber Carbon is very close though. My plan is to upgrade to 1116 on phono soon. Kimber sounds more transparent and natural than AP but without sacrificing resolution and dynamics. I would highly recommend you audition Kimber and AP along with few other cables to see what works best in your setup.
