Steppenwolf

Someone recently said, "I think it's time we gave Steppenwolf a second listen."

So I am. I bought "Magic Carpet Ride, The Dunhill/ABC Years 1967-1971"

I like it so much that when I was wondering what was in the CDP this morning I thought,

"That's not Steppenwolf! This is BS!"

Does anyone else feel the same?

Magic carpet ride was a great song ,and first 45 I brought to school music class

i saw them they put on a great show Bown to be wild ,and pusher have been used many times by others ,the Rock hall of shame is garbage ,many bands Thst are so so like the clash ,iggy pop , ny dolls are in there

after 20+ years they finally invited Phil Collins ,Genesis ,who sold over 150 million solo and with genesis  politics  should have no place in music !!

Jethro Tull snubbed which is disturbing , the guess who , and others who should have been in long ago .

look at rolling stone rag ,the Doors at 42, insane , they have some lady guitarist I never heard of  in as top guitarist putting Jeff Beck out of top 10 , I have not bought Thst rag in over 30 years , all radicals running it now ,not Rock and Rollers.

Monster was my first Steppenwolf album, possibly first album period. I was 13 or 14 back in 70 or 71 and played it almost daily on mom's console stereo. That and Cosmo's Factory by CCR.

Born to be wild and Magic carpet ride got played to death on the radio. They were good but I also liked the deeper cuts like Draft resistor, From here to there eventually, Ride with me, etc. After hearing the song For Ladies Only one night on KAAY in Little Rock I had to have that album too. Also played the heck out of their 16 greatest hits album. I think I'll give them another listen tomorrow.
