Two thoughts: 1- is your DAC volume set to the proper level. 2-You can Airplay directly to the DAC and test the output level relative to the N100. Hope you sort it out.
Aurender N100h low volume
Hi all,
My new-to-me N100 output is super low connected via USB (only option) to BlackIce FSX DSD TubeDAC.
I’ve reset DAC volume in the app multiple times, powered down, unplugged, restarted etc. as per their online help and AI questions. I have initiated email support but the auto-reply was they have a backlog.
I’m told the issue is a low level linux USB handshake issue but wondered if anyone has encountered the same issues and managed to fix it?
Thank you for reading this.

Thanks @rick_n Yes the volume is set, and I was unable to AirPlay to the DAC or N100, likely because of how my router and switch are set up to run the whole house WiFi system. TMR support was unable to fix it (I tried everything they suggested anyway) so the N100 is going back. Shame because it is built like a tank. At some point I'll revisit the Streamer and DAC combo. |
I had the same problem in 2015 with a N100H and a Wyred4Sound DAC2. I sold it and moved on after spending months trying to fix the problem. It was easier just to move on. Back then, their Conductor software was very glitchy. Every other day I had to re-synch the unit because none of my music would show up. |
I have the N200 going into a Denafrips Pontus ll to a preamp and I have a CD Transport plugged into the same DAC. The volume is the same with either device running. One thing you did not mention is the DAC plugged into a preamp or are you using the Blackice as a preamp? BTW, I also have the same DL Labs USB cable and I really enjoy it. |
