Aurender N100h low volume

Hi all,

My new-to-me N100 output is super low connected via USB (only option) to BlackIce FSX DSD TubeDAC.

I’ve reset DAC volume in the app multiple times, powered down, unplugged, restarted etc.  as per their online help and AI questions. I have initiated email support but the auto-reply was they have a backlog.

I’m told the issue is a low level linux USB handshake issue but wondered if anyone has encountered the same issues and managed to fix it?

Thank you for reading this.

I had the same problem in 2015 with a N100H and a Wyred4Sound DAC2.  I sold it and moved on after spending months trying to fix the problem. It was easier just to move on.   Back then, their Conductor software was very glitchy.  Every other day I had to re-synch the unit because none of my music would show up.

I have the N200 going into a Denafrips Pontus ll to a preamp and I have a CD Transport plugged into the same DAC.  The volume is the same with either device running. One thing you did not mention is the DAC plugged into a preamp or are you using the Blackice as a preamp?

BTW, I also have the same DL Labs USB cable and I really enjoy it.

Oh, I forgot, I mentioned that I had the CD transport plugged in, was to ask you if you had something else that you can plug into the Blackice and see if the volume increases.

All the best.

So I am looking at the Conductor app and under the Audio & Playback section, there’s a button that says Audio. When you click Audio, it opens a screen that says External DAC volume.  “Restores full output level on some USB DACs or digital interfaces that play at unusually low volume.”

Have no idea if it will help, but it’s something to check out.

All the best.

@curiousjim Hi Jim, thanks, "Restores full output level on some USB DACs..."

Key word is "some" - tried it 10 times.

DAC is plugged into the T+A integrated.

TMR was quick to send me a pre-paid shipping label so I'm guessing this has happened to others.
