A fresh approach to cable analysis

The topic of cables is very interesting!  There are already some very useful comparative reviews on YouTube.  In fact, what I have recently discovered is the fact that there are some very economical cables that compete well with so-called high level cables.  Of course, this is somewhat subjective based on the reviewer having his own opinion; however, the economical cables are so economical that they were not a financial stretch to try them.

In the review, the reviewer claimed the economical cable performed a bit better than his $800 namebrand cable and was only beaten by his $1300 namebrand cable.  While I do not have an $800 or $1300 pair of interconnects to compare against - I was curious enough to order a pair of the economical cables, and shortly thereafter, a second pair!  My take on them - two thumbs up!

Because of different equipment and value and performance of the equipment, cable impressions will sometimes be completely different between people. Also not everyone has the same critical listening skills or good enough hearing to even hear the differences. Way too many variables to believe what people say on the internet. Its always best to try for yourself in your own home and system! Peoples opinions are inconsistent and all over the map when it comes to cables IMHO!

There have been many tests on cables done over the years.. They have shown no difference (not even a little) that there are $7 dollar cables that equal $4000 cables. One test a green banana performed well !

For those who refuse ro believe these tests, a more specific double blind test is effective. Either you can hear a difference or not. An expensive cable that "clearly makes sound improvements" should be easily detected. This method also has shown the cables are indetectable between them.

After all this, are a lot of people who still swear their 'expensive' cables are worth spending the money.

The guilt trip... after you spend God knows how much money on an expensive system "you'd be a fool to connect it using cheap cables!". Another one is... "the better the system the more you NEED expensive cable". 

The real root of the problem is the human brain is very suseptible to bias. There are 12 types defined as cognitive bias. This is the real problem. Even proper double blind tests will still be viewed with scepticism due to bias suggesting there's been foul play. Conspiracy theories are easy to implement due to this weakness. 

It's an arguement you can't win.

This is a rather tiring controversy and I'm not really interested in "argument" with @gdaddy1. But for a thoughtful refutation, it's difficult to do better than "The Blind, the Double Blind, and the Not-So Blind" by John Atkinson.

Respectfully,Some of this discussion is just a rehash of arguments that I initially stated tend to get us nowhere. No one seems to have specifically commented on the idea of taking apart cables, and showing other people what’s inside them. does anybody know of another site that has done such a thing in a systematic way.b
