A fresh approach to cable analysis
@chrisoshea  What am I supposed to listen to? The link delivers me to a page about Shunyata’s technology that contains 3 you tube clips. Are you suggesting that I can hear the effect of a cable via Youtube into my laptop speakers? As far as "Clau...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
So Seymour I asked Claude AI to provide the links to the tests you have been asking for. It was easy, you could have done this too if you were really interested. Here are the results:   Here's a roundup of the key double-blind tests on...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@seymour-krelborn OK Seymour you’ve had your say now, but these ad hominem attacks are not acceptable. I see you haven’t been around Audiogon more than several months so I’m not going to report you. You seem to have anger issues and forget that we...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
Into Soundlab A1 speakers, I could swap power cables instantly without the need to power down/up anything.    Impressive!   but seriously, it appears that for some people at least they can switch a component or even a whole loom of cables and ...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@seymour-krelborn  Missing from that video is a listening test. Those home-made cables might sound good.  But his opening assertion: "The best cable or wire for audio might be hiding right underneath your nose..." I think he gives us his opini...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@total111 Thanks for the comments and the document. I began it and it looks interesting. I think you and I are kind of on a similar quest. The big caution with AI however is that we must always remember it is not thinking, it is returning things ...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@kennyc Statistics require an ample sample size to determine properties of the population as a whole. Seems you are only using a sample of 1 to make global conclusions Afraid I have to call a foul on that line of argument when discussing manufa...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@gs5556  Something like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5kU5SeaSQs Thanks for posting the Mr. Carlson video! I had seen that and wish more people here at the ‘Gon would watch it. It is very thought provoking and he has no ax to grind. It...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
@fpomposo I don’t see it as a flaw as much as a challenge. for instance, there might be ways to non-invasively capture images of the construction of a cable, or it might be possible to dissect one end and then simply cut that part off and retermin...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
Respectfully,Some of this discussion is just a rehash of arguments that I initially stated tend to get us nowhere. No one seems to have specifically commented on the idea of taking apart cables, and showing other people what’s inside them. does an...
A fresh approach to cable analysis
I appreciate your support, but I have to admit that I am too lazy to put in the work that it would take to do this properly, which is why I’m willing to give the idea away here. To my mind, the ideal person would have at least some background in e...
First foray into tube amps
Since you are in the US, Rogue is a brand worth a look.
Does the Devore Fidelity Orangutan 0/96 speaker play rich and full bodied at 50 Decibels
Why is this a problem that dsp won’t fix easily or even just a set of tone controls?
Anyone try World's Best Cable's “WBC Ultimate Assembly Range” interconnects?
@vailbrew WBC is owned by an Australian Holding Company and all the cables are made in Sri Lanka. I checked and two of mine say "made in Japan" on the labels and one says "made in Lichtenstein".
Anyone try World's Best Cable's “WBC Ultimate Assembly Range” interconnects?
Upon reflection you have a nice opportunity @vitussl101 to contribute to the community here. Why don't you buy both the more expensive and less expensive WBC cables and give us your honest opinion on them? This is what we live for here at the 'Gon...
