Ya man I sold a bunch of Ruby and a few Diamond back in the golden age. Ran a 17D3 for 3 years or so recently. It’s now making a serious analog dude in Colorado happy :-)

It is interesting how Dynavector adopted the MC technology by paying license fees to Ortofon and possibly Grado, and when up and running, were producing its own patents which other Companies are adopting as their own versions, especially Ortofon.

It does suggest that a magnetic field interface that is controlled does have beneficial properties in how the end sound being produced is assessed.

It also suggests the designs are linear and quite predictable when control measures are undertaken with very tight tolerances.

I always wondered why the 17D3 gets so little love around here.  I am very fond of mine and rank it very high among cartridges I own.

I was a Dynavector dealer for many years.  Always has been my favorite cartridge manufacturer.  It was one of my top cartridge sellers.

I still have in my stable a 23RS, 17D2MKII, 17D3, 19A and a couple of 20X series that need repaired.

Back in the day, Dynavector was pretty much the king...

Dear @dwette  : You only have to buy it and make tests comparisons.

Looks as a new great Ortofon ever made and Ortofon build quality of cartridge design at this top level is just outstanding and makes that any owner be/been totally satisfied and proud to be an owner.

You own the Lyra Atlas Lambda SL and could says that that kind of cartridge is for you.

In case you decide to buy it your tests comparisons will be totally welcomed in this and other forums.

Regards and enjoy the MUSIC NOT DISTORTIONS,

R.
