the one that got away - how do you handle grief?

I just lost a bid for my dream speakers that I had been chasing for a decade. It was pretty stupid because I missed the last hour and maybe I would have won it with another $100. But maybe it's a sign, it's just a piece of hardware, that I should not be obsessed with. - "you can't always get what you want"

Did you always get the gear you thought would make you whole?

My dream speakers, farewell to thee. My love for you is real, even though I knew you not. Whether you’ve gone to a better place, is absolutely Not in my thoughts. Such a bitter pill. Against farewell my Almost Love (smooches)

You can either follow an auction until the last minute, which some enjoy, or use a sniper and enter your maximum bid and forget about it - you'll either get it or you won't.  Some enjoy the drama of actively bidding themselves; I tired of it early on as I acquired a lot of stuff via auctions (mostly non- stereo) and the 'fun' of bidding left me early on.

I missed out on a McIntosh MT10 turntable for a great price (85% off!!!) a few years back, and it haunted me until recently, when I got my hands on my dream speakers for a really good deal. You win some, you lose some.
