Yeah @audphile1  love Jplay, I have been using Roon less and less. Going forward I trust Jplay much more than Roon. The former is concerned about quality sound for audiophiles, and the latter is concerned with massive acceptance to music listeners, even those in cars. Wonder if I can sell my lifetime subscription 

@mclinnguy I haven’t tried jplay in the car yet. I normally listen to tidal when I drive. Decent stereo there so it will be interesting to see if I can hear any sound quality differences. Doubt it :)

I migrated away from Roon because of the frequent and sometimes problematic updates. It became tiresome. I like less boxes in my rig; one of the many reasons I like my Weiss, since I use the preamp function.

Same here, plus the messy support system which essentially has you doing the leg work for them when there is a problem (often of their own making because software updates crashed something).

I have an Antipodes server and recently tried switching from Roon to Squeeze, as it is touted as sounding better. That is something of an understatement, it is a significant upgrade in sound. This was after the big April Roon update, though maybe they have improved things since. I miss Roon UI greatly, but I am addicted to the Squeeze sound and not sure I can go back.
